Zaphiro and ComED are partnering to explore the use of synchrophasor technology as a tool to enhance distribution grid observability, increase data quality, and improve the performance of distribution automation schemes such as FLISR or VVO. It is expected that distribution synchrophasors could bring important benefits to utilities in the areas of SAIDI/SAIFI reduction, renewable integration, and system protection. The technology could be an integral part of future digital substation designs as well as control room solutions.

At DistribuTECH 2023, Zaphiro and ComED presented their vision for distribution synchrophasors and the experience they gathered from synchrophasor deployments in the field.
